NZ Tax Refunds wins business award

Christchurch-based NZ Tax Refunds has taken top honours at the recent HER Businesswoman of the Year 2010 awards.  The specialist online tax refund company won the Small to Medium Enterprise Business of the Year category.

NZ TaxRefunds managing director Cilla Hegarty says she is absolutely thrilled the company has been recognised for its business acumen.

"I am extremely proud of the entire team who have worked hard to achieve such great results for the company," she says.

"We've only been operating for two and a half years and in that time we have built the business from the ground up.  The company has performed well beyond its budgeted turnover since its inception and, as the owner of the company, I couldn't feel any prouder than I do right now."

Hegarty was also a finalist in the HER Businesswoman of 2010.

She says the award has topped off an extremely successful and innovative year for the company.

"We've increased our client database by 390% compared to the previous year and we've undertaken some new developments within the company," she says.

"Our recent software upgrade guarantees security for our customers, as well as revolutionising the time it takes clients to receive notification concerning tax refunds.  This upgrade ensures clients are provided with a sixty-second turnaround on their applications.

NZ Tax Refunds is the only company in New Zealand offering a fully automated service.

Hegarty says clients will now be able to check online, daily if necessary, to see exactly where their application is at.
