NZICA member suspended
Auckland chartered accountant Paul Ernest Rogers has been censured by the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) and had his membership suspended as a result of a complaint relating to the operation of his trust account.
At a hearing of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the NZICA held on 5 February there was an ex-parte application from the Professional Conduct Committee under rule 21.11.
The order of the Disciplinary Tribunal was that Rogers be suspended from membership of the Institute until further order of the Disciplinary Tribunal upon the grounds that it is satisfied that it is necessary and desirable to do so having regard to the interests of the public and the financial interests of the member's clients.
It also ordered that after 14 days there be notice of the suspension published in the Chartered Accountants Journal, The New Zealand Herald, the National Business Review and on the Institute's website with mention of the members name and locality.
