Tax payments transferred online
Jenha White, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 12:17
Tax agents can now transfer tax payments online rather than over the phone with Inland Revenue's financial transfer service.
The service launched last month allows tax agents to request whole payment and credit transfers from clients on tax agent or agency client lists to other tax types, periods or customers.
Inland Revenue says the service is part of its development of a suite of eServices for tax agents with others under development such as enhancing its speech recognition phone service as it looks to better meet the needs of tax agents.
It says to use the financial transfer service tax agents who have not yet registered for online services will need to contact their agent account manager.
Once registered for online services, tax agents also need to be registered to use the Look at Account Information service.
Inland Revenue cannot display details about tax types or activities for a client unless the client has authorised a tax agent or agency for that tax type or activity.
